The Change Release Management Engineer is an entry-level technical resource in Release Engineering and is primarily responsible for the safe, automated, and secure promotion of application objects through the various environments: development, staging, production, etc. This position is needed to maintain an appropriate segregation-of-duties between application developers and their production environments. This function is done through the strict adherence to the DevSecOps framework that governs the application delivery process at MFS. Lastly, this position is also responsible for supporting the maintenance and execution of the technologies related to Release Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes application objects (i.e. binaries, reports, text files) from lower environments to upper-level production environments using tools appropriate for application deployment.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the systems related to Release Engineering and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate.
  • Employ technical skills to support the ongoing efficient and reliable operation of the Release Engineering team.
  • Using approved technologies to automate manual deployment tasks and seeks to improve efficiencies wherever practicable and appropriate.
  • Adheres to and maintains MFS' information security controls, procedures, and standards. This includes mitigating security vulnerabilities within a prescribed timeframe, dependent on the severity of the vulnerability.
  • Receives goals and objectives from management and provides input on how to best attain them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience of 0-2+ years
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of automated release management applications and frameworks
  • Some application deployments occur outside of regular business hours, such as evenings and weekends. This resource is expected to be available to complete these tasks in a timely manner.
