About the position

ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, is seeking dedicated Changeover Staff to join our Operations team in Richmond, VA. This part-time position is crucial for the successful setup and teardown of various events at our venues, including the Richmond Coliseum, Altria Theater, Richmond CenterStage, and Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. The Changeover Staff will work closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure that all event requirements are met efficiently and effectively. The role involves a variety of tasks, including the moving, arranging, setting up, and removing of items necessary for events. This includes the setup and teardown of stages, tables, chairs, barricades, linens, and equipment. Additionally, staff will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of animal penning as needed. Maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities is also a key responsibility, which includes buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing windows, and cleaning toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, arena seats, and trash cans. Staff will also be expected to assist with clean-up during and after events, ensuring that all areas are left in pristine condition. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as staff may be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The ability to communicate effectively in English, particularly in emergency situations, is essential for promoting safety in the workplace. Candidates should possess reliable transportation to ensure they can complete all assigned shifts without exception. Physical demands of the job include standing for long periods, lifting and moving items up to 100 pounds, and performing tasks that may require kneeling, stooping, or crawling. Vision acuity is necessary to operate equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, potentially in adverse conditions.
  • Ability to perform work in high areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some experience using hand tools preferred.
  • Reliable and consistent transportation during irregular hours.
