About the position

The Changeover crew plays a vital role in the successful execution of events at the North Charleston Coliseum, Convention, and Performing Arts Centers. This position involves a variety of physical tasks that are essential for setting up and breaking down equipment before and after events. The crew is responsible for ensuring that all necessary equipment, such as stages, risers, seating, basketball floors, hockey systems, chairs, tables, and other areas like the lobby, dressing rooms, and press room, are properly set up and dismantled as directed. This role requires a keen eye for detail, as crew members must survey equipment for any damage or disrepair before and after events, reporting any issues as necessary. In addition to setup and breakdown duties, the Changeover crew assists with the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working order. Housekeeping duties may also be assigned, contributing to the overall cleanliness and organization of the facilities. The crew is expected to assist staff in various operational areas, performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors. Flexibility is key, as the responsibilities may change based on the needs of the events and the direction of management. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a strong ability to perform various physical tasks and possess knowledge of setup and breakdown techniques, including the use of hand tools and equipment. Responsibilities

• Set up and break down equipment as directed, including stages, risers, seating, basketball floor, hockey system, chairs & tables, lobby area, dressing rooms, and press room.
• Survey equipment before and after events for damage or disrepair and report as necessary.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Assist staff as needed in all areas of Operations, performing other tasks as assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform various physical tasks.
• Demonstrated ability of set-up and break down techniques including the use of hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to access all areas of the Facilities.
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk long distances and be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
