About the position

The Changeover Set Up Crew at ASM Global is responsible for preparing and maintaining the Broward County Convention Center for various events. This role involves physical tasks such as setting up and tearing down equipment, cleaning the facility, and ensuring a safe working environment under the supervision of the Set Up-Conversion Manager. The position requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to work well in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares facility for shows including chairs, stages, tables, and other equipment as assigned.
  • Performs exterior cleaning of facility.
  • Disposes of all waste, including bulk trash removal from building in all areas.
  • Cleans and maintains all areas as assigned.
  • Reads and understands event work orders.
  • Coordinates work with all operations sections.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Attends to and conforms to the policies established by ASM Global.
  • Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and company vehicles as required after training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Prior Requisition Conversion and/or event experience in a hotel, arena, convention center or other similar public assembly facility preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to follow written and or verbal instruction.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
