About the position

The Acrisure Arena is seeking a part-time Operations Crew member who will play a crucial role in the setup and teardown of various events held at the venue. This position is essential for preparing the arena for a wide range of events, including hockey games, family shows, and concerts, ensuring that all setups align with the specified event plans. The Operations Crew will oversee the staff involved in the preparation of changeovers and events, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. The role requires a proactive approach to safety, with an emphasis on promoting a safe and efficient work environment for all team members and guests. In addition to setup and teardown responsibilities, the Operations Crew will be involved in repairing and maintaining retractable and permanent seating, participating in safety procedures, and leading efforts to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The position demands physical stamina, as it involves strenuous activities such as lifting, carrying, and moving equipment, as well as working from various heights and in moderate to loud noise environments. The crew member will also operate various equipment, including light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and scrubbing machines, contributing to the overall functionality of the arena during events. This part-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $22, along with benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions and accrued paid leave for part-time employees. The role is designed for individuals who are self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision, and possess a strong work ethic. Responsibilities

  • Set up and remove stage, risers, seating, tables, flooring, etc. for various events.
  • Repair and perform maintenance of retractable and permanent seats.
  • Participate in and lead lock out/tag out procedures and other safety precautions.
  • Proactively use all safety mandates and teach others to do the same.
  • Promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Be available for event support, as needed.
  • Embrace a culture of diversity and inclusion where guests and team members feel welcomed, valued, and heard.
  • Facilitate conversions in order to create winning experiences and timeless memories for guests.
  • Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests.
  • Assist other departments as assigned.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, walking extensively throughout the building, working from various heights, and around moderate to loud noises.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma + 1 year of conversion experience, preferred.
  • Ability to give clear instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Complete knowledge of operations procedures to facilitate changeovers.
  • Certified forklift operator is preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical riser system repair, preferred.
  • Ability to work long hours and varied schedules (majority overnight conversions).
  • Must be self-motivated and work under little supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner.
  • Excellent safety record and work ethic.
  • Organized and able to prioritize work and work of others to meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment.
