Chaplain (Day Shift, Part-Time)

About the position

The Chaplain position at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings is a part-time role focused on providing spiritual care to residents, particularly veterans. The incumbent will administer the Chaplaincy Department and is expected to work at least 64 hours per two-week pay cycle, with the possibility of additional hours based on business needs. This role is essential in fostering a supportive environment for veterans, addressing their clinical, mental, chemical, and physical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home.
• Administer the Chaplaincy Department.
• Conduct services that are creative and engaging.
• Facilitate independent pastoral care and counseling.
• Travel between Hastings and Minneapolis Domiciliary Program as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Theology or a related degree program.
• 2 years of experience performing independent pastoral care and counseling in a parish or specialized ministry setting.
• Completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Thorough knowledge of community-based religious resources available to residents.
• Exceptional human relations skills sufficient to provide pastoral care, counseling, and empathy.
• Communication and presentation skills sufficient to conduct services.

Nice-to-haves

• Master of Divinity degree or a related degree program from an accredited graduate school.
• Previous experience as a Chaplain in healthcare.
