About the position

The Chaplain position at Caretenders Hospice is a part-time or PRN role focused on providing spiritual care to hospice patients and their families. The role emphasizes meaningful connections and support for individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that spiritual conversations are led by the patients and caregivers. The Chaplain will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to address the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to hospice patients and their families.
• Demonstrate proficiency in spiritual care across diverse backgrounds.
• Facilitate spiritual conversations led by patients and caregivers.
• Offer knowledge of spiritual resources and network with community religious leaders.
• Collaborate effectively within the interdisciplinary team and contribute to IDG meetings.
• Provide spiritual and emotional care to hospice staff when requested.

Requirements

• Master's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion, or related discipline (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion, or related discipline (required).
• Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (required).
• Minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare setting or related pastoral experience (required).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

• Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (preferred).
• Two years of hospice experience (preferred).
