The Chaplain I position at Samaritan Health Services is responsible for addressing the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of patients, families, employees, students, and volunteers. This role involves providing chaplain coverage, problem-solving, and offering a supportive presence during crises, while respecting diverse belief systems and cultural perspectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual, religious, and emotional support to patients, families, and staff.
- Problem-solve and offer a supportive presence during crises.
- Respect and support a variety of belief and cultural perspectives.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to address patient needs.
- Conduct group presentations and communicate effectively with team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an unrelated field with two years of pastoral, spiritual, or medical experience.
- Ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by a pastoral/spiritual community.
- Experience or training in pastoral/spiritual care, such as Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in a related field.
