About the position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides person-centered spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Provides objective, patient/family/colleague-centered crisis intervention and spiritual support (as needed) throughout the institution.
  • Shares the responsibility of promoting team spirit and a positive environment resulting in outstanding patient and family service on a daily and emergency basis.
  • Assists with new hires' and CPE students' orientations.
  • Completes supervisor-assigned projects and/or tasks.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in divinity (seventy-two (72) semester hours minimum) from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited educational institution.
  • Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • One (1) year of spiritual care experience in a health care setting.
  • Ecclesiastical endorsement from the incumbent's/candidate's faith group.
  • Chaplain certification from one (1) of the following bodies: Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC), Association of Certified Christian Chaplains (ACCC), Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC), or National Association of Veteran's Administration Chaplains (NAVAC).
  • No federal or state license required.
