Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual care to hospice patients and their families.
- Demonstrate understanding of the role of a Spiritual Caregiver compared to other religious leaders.
- Champion cultural and spiritual humility when providing care to individuals of diverse beliefs.
- Facilitate spiritual conversations led by patients and caregivers, refraining from sharing personal beliefs unless invited.
- Utilize a wide range of spiritual resources to support patients' belief systems and network with community religious leaders for referrals.
Requirements
- Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or a Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a healthcare setting and/or related pastoral experience.
- Documentation of current endorsement or acceptable language in accordance with the applicant's spiritual/faith tradition.
- Proof of good standing with the spiritual/faith group with no ethical charges current or pending.
Nice-to-haves
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education or a Master's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion, or a related discipline.
- Two years of hospice experience.
