About The Position

Requirements

  • A four-year undergraduate degree (BA or BS) from an accredited institution is required.
  • A seminary graduate degree (Master of Divinity, Theology, Counseling, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of one unit (400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education Training is preferred.
  • The candidate should possess a theological and psychological understanding of religious and human dynamics, medical ethics, and pastoral counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral care and counseling services to patients, their loved ones, and staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Document pastoral/spiritual assessments of patients and chart activities in patient records.
  • Offer worship opportunities and support sacramental needs.
  • Engage in the action reflection learning process through daily group meetings and supervision sessions.
  • Educate patients and families on Advance Directives and ethical issues in healthcare.
  • Maintain records of pastoral activity and coordinate with local clergy and pastoral visitors.
