Chaplain

About the position

The Chaplain at UCHealth serves as a spiritual care specialist, providing comprehensive spiritual, cultural, emotional, and relational support to patients, their families, and staff. This role involves education, mentoring, and participation in interdisciplinary approaches to enhance patient health and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document spiritual visitation, worship services, and outreach.
• Participate on hospital committees and community boards.
• Provide staff support around crisis intervention, trauma, stress, and ethical issues.
• Teach classes and in-services designed to educate and provide therapeutic assistance to students, patients, family, staff, and the community.
• Participate in an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care and patient health.

Requirements

• Master of Divinity degree or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Satisfactory completion of four (4) units of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) CPE.
• Ordained or in the process of ordination or member of a religious vocation with denominational endorsement.
• 1 year of relevant pastoral experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Association of Professional Chaplains certification.
• Department specific certification may be required.
