About the position

The Chaplain provides professional spiritual care ministry, addressing the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of individuals in various healthcare settings. This role is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring the implementation of the mission, values, policies, and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and the facility. The Chaplain is expected to foster a culture of patient-focused care, emphasizing understanding, commitment, and mutual respect.

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Implement the mission and values of the Department of Spiritual Health Services.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to address the spiritual and emotional needs of patients.
  • Conduct spiritual assessments and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Facilitate religious services and rituals as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of 4 units of accredited training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire.
