About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bankruptcy law and be skilled in various administrative and legal tasks. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with case preparation, documentation, and client communication, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and provide relevant information.
  • Manage case files using iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date.
  • Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining client correspondence.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information for cases, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and maintaining physical and electronic records.
  • Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely submission of filings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a legal environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy law is essential; experience in family law or estate planning is a plus.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent research abilities combined with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using project management tools to track progress on various cases is advantageous.
  • A background in administrative support roles will be beneficial for this position.
