The Chapter Leader, Infrastructure Automation Engineering at National Grid is responsible for leading a cross-functional team focused on developing innovative infrastructure automation capabilities. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative capabilities and implement processes that align with organizational goals.
  • Create a positive work environment that motivates employees and supports their health and wellbeing.
  • Establish standards and ensure alignment with National Grid's future state blueprint.
  • Map expected competencies and design career paths for team members.
  • Track resource supply and demand, collaborating with leadership for optimal allocation.
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the infrastructure automation community.
  • Organize workshops and training programs to upskill teams.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in strategic technology leadership and IT infrastructure management.
  • Proficiency in developing infrastructure automation solutions in Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Strong background in cloud networking and security compliance.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, SQL, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFE, Scrum, or Kanban.
  • Familiarity with Service Now and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools and techniques.
