About the position

The Charge Entry Specialist is responsible for the accurate data entry of medical billing codes into the system for multiple physicians. This role involves verifying patient treatment codes, maintaining records, and assisting with billing inquiries, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing patient medical records to ensure accuracy
• Entering patient treatment codes into billing software
• Following up on rejected or denied claims
• Communicating with clinic leaders to resolve billing issues
• Assisting with patient inquiries about billing and insurance
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient data according to HIPAA guidelines
• Performing regular audits to ensure that all charges are accounted for and billed correctly
• Posting payments from patients

Requirements
