About the position

The Charge Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at UCHealth Greeley Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality direct patient care in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient wellness, and safety, while also supporting the development of new healthcare professionals through precepting. The Charge Nurse will work in a technically complex ICU setting, contributing to exceptional patient outcomes and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide top of scope practice in direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Value a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Prioritize wellness, a patient perspective, and evidence-based practice.
  • Model proficiency through precepting those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth.
  • Welcome new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment.
  • Contribute to secure safety and quality at the point of care in the ICU.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months of ICU nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technically complex ICU environment.
  • Specialty certification in nursing.
