The Charge Nurse (RN) position at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital involves leading and supervising nursing staff in a state-of-the-art inpatient acute rehabilitation setting. The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing nursing services, ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols, and fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services.
  • Participates in developing nursing protocol and procedures.
  • Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Participates in providing nursing care, assesses patient needs, ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately.
  • Maintains patient health care records.
  • Maintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Promotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
  • Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
  • 1 to 2 years supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
  • CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
  • CRRN preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in rehabilitation nursing.
  • Leadership training or certification.
