About the position

The Charge Nurse at Samaritan Health Services is responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate direct and indirect patient care in the surgical operating room. This role involves utilizing the nursing process while adhering to the Oregon State Board of Nursing's scope of practice. The Charge Nurse will work with a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, ensuring high-quality care during surgical and procedural sedation.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide safe and effective patient care.
• Provide intraoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with team members and patients regarding care plans and procedures.
• Adapt care strategies based on the diverse needs of patients across different age groups.
• Manage time effectively to prioritize and complete tasks within required time frames.

Requirements

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
• Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required.
• Experience in Operating Room (OR), Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), and/or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work with a diverse population and understand age-related differences in care.
