About the position
We are Hiring at University Hospital. Location: 530 S Jackson St. Louisville KY, 40202. Shift Options: FULL-TIME NIGHTS 7P-7A. About the Unit: 5 Core is a 6-bed medical intensive care unit. Patients may experience a variety of disease processes involving the following systems: Neurology, Respiratory, Endocrine, Cardiac, Immune/Infectious Disease, and Renal. This unit also cares for ICU level patients receiving blood cellular therapies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Clinical Manager and/or Nursing Director with the management of the unit.
- Participate in employee evaluation, staffing and scheduling, patient and preceptor assignments.
- Oversee resource utilization and initiate quality improvement activities.
- Act as a resource and provide information/education to unit staff.
- Involved in service recovery and promote customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Serve as a role model and proponent of the professional nurse on the unit.
- Participate in nursing department initiatives such as the acquisition of Magnet Certification and organizational committee meetings.
Requirements
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Associate's degree from accredited college or University.
