DRMP's Charlotte NC office is seeking a Professional Survey and Mapper Department Manager, who will manage Transportation, Land Development, and Construction-related projects using knowledge and experience in project management, production management, staffing, and clientele coordination. This role is pivotal in providing mentorship and guidance to both office and field personnel in the completion of their assignments. The manager will actively participate in Business Development and Marketing pursuits, both in-house and for outside clients, ensuring that the firm maintains a diverse client base. The position requires managing various public and/or private sector clients/projects, performing yearly evaluations of Project Managers and Field Coordinators, and providing input for yearly evaluations of party chiefs and technicians. In addition to these responsibilities, the manager will participate in weekly department production meetings, prepare or assist in preparing scopes, fees, manhours, and proposals for public and private sector clients, and approve all proposals before submission to clients. Administrative and management tasks include assisting with business planning and budgeting, reviewing and submitting client invoices, reviewing department time sheets, hiring staff, conducting performance reviews, coordinating project production, and overseeing QA/QC reviews. The manager will also be responsible for managing project budgets and schedules, providing adequate training opportunities for staff, and maintaining staff certifications. On the technical side, the manager will ensure that all work meets or exceeds the standards of practice of the profession, check for full compliance with contractual obligations and client preferences, perform field reviews and QA/QC reviews, conduct project research and analysis, and assist staff with technical development. The role also involves preparing legal descriptions and CADD drawings. In terms of marketing and business development, the manager will prepare project proposals and staff hour estimates, develop marketing leads, prepare write-ups at project completion, establish and maintain client relationships, and represent DRMP within professional societies and at industry events. This includes participating in local professional organizations such as ACEC, ASHE, and NCSS, attending lunches, meetings, and other conferences to increase DRMP's marketing network. The manager will also market and research upcoming projects, including identifying projects and creating a Marketing Target list, and work with and support DRMP's Geomatics and engineering staff to aid in expanding services throughout the Charlotte region. Specific goals will include establishing a backlog to start and maintain field and office staff locally.
