About the position
The Behavior Interventionist at PUENTE Learning Center will provide essential support to students and staff in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans. This role focuses on addressing significant behavioral needs of elementary students, promoting positive behavior supports, and enhancing academic performance through targeted strategies and collaboration with teachers and administrators.
Responsibilities
- Support the school's initiatives with positive behavior supports and programs.
- Work directly with identified students to adopt behaviors that increase their academic performance.
- Provide diversified strategies and activities for targeted students under supervision.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration on crisis intervention and learning issues.
- Promote specialized positive behavior interventions for at-risk students.
- Use data collection to maintain records of student progress.
- Model good assessment processes for students to assess their own work and behavior.
- Recognize student accomplishments and positive behaviors.
- Assist with professional development for teachers on positive behavior support strategies.
- Supervise students to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development for positive student behavior support.
- Support conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve school goals.
- Implement and monitor progress towards IEP goals and behavior intervention plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 years of experience in behavioral health required.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Technology literate and comfortable incorporating technology into instructional programs.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Welligent preferred.
- Interest in participating in parent-participation projects and school-community events.
