About the position

The Cheese Shop/Steward position at City Market focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The role is responsible for achieving sales and profit goals for the Cheese department while ensuring quality assurance standards are met. The position also involves collaboration with the Deli department to enhance customer engagement and embody the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return.
• Achieve sales and profit goals for the Cheese department.
• Monitor and control quality assurance standards.
• Work closely with the Deli department to create an engaging environment for customers.
• Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Excellent knife skills
• Current food handlers permit once employed
