About the position

The Chef de Cuisine (CDC) at Blue Steel Pizza Co is a senior culinary leadership role responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, menu development, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dishes consistently, maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and creativity.
  • Develop, create, and refine seasonal menus, focusing on innovation, quality, and sustainability.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen health standards.
  • Manage inventory and food ordering, ensuring cost efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Mentor and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative environment and promoting career development.
  • Collaborate closely with restaurant management to align kitchen operations with the restaurant's overall goals.
  • Maintain consistent communication with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  • Control kitchen costs, including labor, food, and other operational expenses.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and quality control.
  • Exceptional culinary skills and creativity, with a passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both within the kitchen and with front-of-house staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Culinary experience: 7 years (Preferred)
