About the position
The Chef de Partie at The French Laundry is a vital role within Chef Thomas Keller's renowned culinary brigade, responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. The Chef de Partie will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that the restaurant's daily changing tasting menu is executed flawlessly, utilizing seasonal ingredients and French cooking techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present dishes according to the restaurant's standards and daily changing menu.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality food service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and workstations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff.
- Participate in family meal preparation and ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong technical skills in cooking and food preparation.
- Advanced knife skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team.
