About the position

The Sous Chef at Flik Hospitality Group is responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department within a facility. This role involves assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, as well as developing daily menu items. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to create new menus and manage cost controls, making it an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
  • Produce and execute catering events.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team.

Requirements

  • A.S. or equivalent experience.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet.
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
