About the position

The University of Alabama's Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is seeking multiple tenure-track and tenured faculty members at various ranks, including Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. The department aims to enhance its research capabilities and educational offerings in chemical and biological engineering, with a focus on candidates who can contribute to existing strengths and expand research scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a highly productive research group with significant scholarly impact.
• Secure extramural funding for research initiatives.
• Collaborate with existing faculty within the department and across the university.
• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of expertise.
• Support the delivery and accreditation of the Department's core degree programs.

Requirements

• Demonstrated potential to develop and lead a research group.
• Ability to secure extramural funding.
• Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Strong collaboration skills with faculty and colleagues.

Nice-to-haves

• Research interests in bio/metabolic engineering, biomaterials, computational biology, additive and advanced manufacturing, process control and systems engineering, sustainable polymers, and electrochemical engineering.
