About the position

The Chemical and Textile Company Assessor at SGS is responsible for conducting assessments based on the bluesign® criteria, ensuring compliance for brands in the American market. This role involves coordinating quality assurance activities and supporting brands in certifying their consumer products, with a focus on sustainability and integrity in the textile and chemical sectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments according to the bluesign® criteria and follow up for compliance.
• Prepare assessments and pre-evaluate preparation documents.
• Conduct onsite company assessments, including report writing and evaluations.
• Follow up on the roadmap for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria.
• Maintain and actualize the business process leading IT tool.
• Perform annual follow-up assessments to monitor continuous improvement.
• Evaluate Bill of Materials for consumer products intended for certification.
• Collect samples and organize testing for quality assurance checks.

Requirements

• Educational background in engineering, natural science, or a technical degree, ideally textile-related.
• Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and/or chemical processes and the textile supply chain.
• Knowledge in product stewardship, classification, labeling, and regulatory affairs.
• Knowledge in environment, health, and safety fields.
• Experience in assessment practices within the textile, accessory, or chemical manufacturing sector.
• Good English skills, especially written.
