Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a machine operator in a production environment.
  • Blending and batch mixing experience is preferred.
  • A Chemistry background is preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate computer and math skills are required.
  • Well organized with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures is mandatory.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

  • Experience in a chemical processing environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Operates mixers, pre-mixers, and blending equipment to produce liquid soap.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Safely handles all chemicals in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Reports any chemical or other spills immediately and follows related procedures.
  • Understands and follows the Sanitation Program, including preparation of sanitation solutions.
  • Understands fluid flow from raw material storage tanks to mixers and pre-mixers.
  • Transfers finished product from mixers and pre-mixers to storage tanks, following all related policies and procedures.
  • Follows Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the manufacture of safe, hygienic products.
  • Follows instructions, recipes, and PI sheets to accurately make a batch using proper sequence of chemical addition.
  • Troubleshoots issues to ensure quality batches and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Follows escalation process to report broken or leaking equipment.
  • Reworks batches, as needed, to avoid product waste.
  • Accurately records data on batch sheets, batch logs, wastewater logs, and in the logbook.
  • Maintains stock levels of non-bulk items in proper storage area.
  • Maintains salt levels in the brine tanks.
  • Conducts various tests following procedures including pH testing and hardness testing of the soft water system.
  • Completes required cleaning duties for the process area and all liquids process equipment.
  • Effectively operates the wastewater system.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and problem-free process operation.
  • Regularly conducts and participates in shift turnover discussions.
  • Regularly attends, listens, and participates in team meetings and end-of-shift meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
