About the position

The Chemical Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will engage in special projects and assist engineers on major projects and process engineering, focusing on enhancing facility efficiency and product quality. This full-time internship will provide hands-on experience in an industrial chemical and mining environment, with potential locations in Central Florida, Louisiana, or New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting to identify root causes of problems.
• Conduct mass and energy balances for various chemical processes.
• Develop process flow diagrams for new opportunities.
• Size pumps and equipment as needed.
• Engage in computer modeling tasks.
• Assist in equipment inspections during Turnaround and Repair Days.
• Communicate effectively with various personnel, including management and plant operators.
• Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
• Adhere to Mosaic's mission and safety policies.

Requirements

• Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Completion of Material and Energy Balances or Thermodynamics class prior to internship.
• 1-2 years of experience in volunteering or working with student organizations.
• Previous internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
