This entry-level position involves performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects that are of a general nature and limited scope. The role requires the application of standard mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies. The successful candidate will complete assignments under detailed instructions and will work closely with higher-level chemical engineers or departmental management to assist in the design and project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment. The responsibilities include participating in the establishment of operating procedures for new products and components, assisting in the development of test procedures, and performing routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests. The candidate will also conduct product and process capability studies, quality audits, and product or project data reviews, contributing to various engineering evaluation tasks. Evaluating opportunities for defect prevention based on standard or accepted solutions is a key aspect of the role, as is preparing evaluation reports, analyzing discrepancies, and making recommendations for improvements in productivity and quality. Additionally, the position involves assisting in the preparation of product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings, specifications, and test equipment designs. The candidate will define and acquire tooling, gauging, and other equipment necessary for manufacturing and inspecting parts to ensure product quality. Interaction with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations is essential for resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues. The role also includes providing technical assistance in the assigned field and evaluating technological advances that can enhance productivity and quality while reducing flow time and improving operational surety. Safety is a priority, and the candidate must conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner, adhering to established health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) requirements, and has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.
