About the position

The Chemical Engineer III role at Honeywell is a professional-level position focused on performing complex engineering functions related to various programs and projects. This role involves applying advanced engineering technologies and collaborating with technical experts to design and manage products and processes, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and/or project/process management of new and current products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment in collaboration with higher level technical experts.
  • Develops test procedures and performs complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work.
  • Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, test equipment, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime.
  • Defines and acquires tooling, gauging and other equipment necessary to manufacture/inspect parts to assure product quality.
  • Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Initiates evaluation and provides input regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety.
  • Recognized as an emerging subject matter expert within the business unit.
  • Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees to ensure project and product compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from an accredited program.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and determined by the needs of the business.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
  • Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.
