About the position

The Chemical Engineer Intern position at Olin Corporation offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of chemical engineering. Interns will engage in a variety of daily activities, including troubleshooting and analyzing data to support operational excellence. They will serve as engineering representatives on small capital projects, which will involve justifying, specifying, obtaining approval, ordering, and installing processes and equipment. This role is integral to supporting the plant's goals, including continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives, which are essential for maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Work alongside maintenance and production to develop and implement new or improved chemical manufacturing processes
  • Assist with troubleshooting, gathering and analyzing data
  • Serve as engineering representative on small capital projects
  • Justify, specify, obtain approval, order and install processes and equipment
  • Support plant and Operational and Maintenance Excellence goals, including continuous improvement / Lean manufacturing initiatives

Requirements

  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree program
  • Overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Completed sophomore year prior to first assignment with Olin
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) May - August 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa
  • Able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
  • Valid US Driver's license is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Availability and desire to work a minimum of three (3) terms with no more than one of those terms occurring over the summer
