About the position

The Chemical Engineer Intern/Co-op position at LyondellBasell offers ambitious engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading global chemical company. Interns will work on projects that enhance plant safety, environmental performance, and profitability, contributing to significant innovations and operational optimizations within various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects that enhance plant safety, environmental performance, and profitability.
• Optimize day-to-day operations in production engineering.
• Evaluate and develop major projects and debottlenecks in process engineering.
• Serve as a technical resource for the corporation.
• Develop and improve systems for process safety and environmental performance.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced control schemes as a control system engineer.
• Create and refine process models for predictive control systems.
• Provide technical support to polyolefin customers through visits and trials in research and development engineering.
• Drive innovation by developing new materials and processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.
