About the position

As a Chemical Engineer Intern at Sargent & Lundy, you will be an integral part of a project team, assisting engineering team members in executing various project tasks. Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering team members in executing project work related to air and water quality control systems and carbon capture systems.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of industry standards and specifications, control system design, and new technology developments.
  • Track and evaluate project activities, project progress, and associated data for reporting purposes.
  • Work independently with minimal direction, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Expected graduation date in Winter 2025 or Spring 2026 toward a BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Solid understanding of basic chemical engineering processes, including mass balances.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong PC skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of the practical application of chemical engineering and technology.
  • Knowledge of ASPEN or similar process modeling software, Microsoft applications.
