About the position

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Training to join the team at the Nazareth Cement plant. This entry-level position is part of a structured training program aimed at providing an overview of cement plant operations while supporting production goals and environmental standards. The role offers a unique opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical, heavy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support operations in achieving production goals by collaborating with experienced engineers and managers across various departments.
• Participate in production and maintenance meetings.
• Learn basic supervisory skills by working alongside supervisors.
• Complete assigned project work in the area of expertise.
• Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues.
• Participate in various training programs to enhance skills.
• Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Program by suggesting changes in routines and processes.
• Follow plant and MSHA Safety Policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Maintain awareness of plant environmental standards and take corrective action for minor problems.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• Strong interest in process improvement and environmental standards.
• Highly organized with a process improvement mindset.
• Strong work ethic and initiative.
• Ability to solve problems in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, 24-hour operational environment.
