About the position

Trillium Professional is seeking a dedicated and passionate Chemical Engineer for a direct-hire placement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative solutions to technically challenging problems in a product and/or process development environment. This role requires a strong background in chemical engineering research and development, with a focus on new product commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with an advanced degree being desirable, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The Chemical Engineer will engage in the development of advanced acoustic mixing technology and equipment, addressing critical issues such as mixing, mass transport, heat transfer, scaling, process control, and process optimization. The candidate will be expected to have a working knowledge of various mixing processes, including solid-solid, liquid-solid, and liquid-liquid systems, and will be responsible for the design and development of chemical processes and equipment from bench to production scale. In this role, the candidate will take ownership of assigned projects from inception to completion, generating project requirements to resolve product/process problems and support the development of new products/processes. Responsibilities will include initiating technical investigations, preparing protocols, and conducting research using advanced chemical engineering theories and methods. The candidate will also be tasked with writing reaction protocols, research reports, and grant proposals, as well as presenting findings to various stakeholders, including customers, clients, investors, and government organizations. Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative solutions to technically challenging problems in product and process development environments.
  • Engage in the development of advanced acoustic mixing technology and equipment.
  • Evaluate issues related to mixing, mass transport, heat transfer, scaling, process control, and process optimization.
  • Design and develop chemical processes and equipment from bench to production scale.
  • Take responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion.
  • Generate project requirements to resolve product/process problems and support new product/process development.
  • Initiate technical investigations and prepare protocols.
  • Conduct research using advanced chemical engineering theories and methods to solve complex problems.
  • Write reaction protocols, research reports, and grant proposals.
  • Present work periodically in team settings and to customers, clients, investors, and government organizations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering (MS or PhD is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a diverse and demanding technology environment.
  • Strong work ethic and team player attributes.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in energetics, pharmaceuticals, batteries/energy storage, or other contemporary industrial processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with various designs of mixing processes.
