About the position

The Chemical Engineer at RBC Bearings is responsible for solving technical problems related to manufacturing and production processes, particularly in plating and chemical engineering. This role involves managing technical projects, developing and optimizing plating processes, ensuring safety compliance, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. The engineer will also be involved in cost analysis and the design of equipment layouts, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Solve technical problems supporting Manufacturing/Production.
  • Manage technical projects to completion, including plating processes, corrective actions, new product launches, machine repairs, and lean activities.
  • Develop plating processes and train applicable personnel on plating concepts/processes.
  • Develop safety procedures for workers operating equipment or working near chemical reactions.
  • Troubleshoot problems with chemical/plating manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to optimize performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Perform tests and monitor performance of processes.
  • Design and plan layout of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain plating production costs.

Requirements

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience/education.
  • EHS waste disposal experience preferred.
  • Chemical engineering experience preferred.
  • Plating experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Cost analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of plating theory.
