About the position

The position involves solving technical problems that support the Manufacturing and Production sectors. The successful candidate will manage technical projects from inception to completion, which may encompass a variety of tasks including plating processes, implementing corrective actions, launching new products, conducting machine repairs, engaging in lean activities, and designing tooling as required. A significant aspect of the role is to develop plating processes and provide training to relevant personnel on these concepts and processes. Additionally, the role requires the development of safety procedures that must be adhered to by workers operating equipment or working near ongoing chemical reactions. Troubleshooting issues related to chemical and plating manufacturing processes is also a critical responsibility. The candidate will evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify opportunities for performance optimization and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Regular testing and monitoring of process performance will be necessary, along with designing and planning the layout of equipment. The role also involves developing and maintaining plating production costs, and attendance at work is deemed an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Solve technical problems supporting Manufacturing/Production.
  • Manage technical projects to completion, including plating processes, corrective actions, new product launches, machine repairs, lean activities, and designing tooling as required.
  • Develop plating processes and train applicable personnel on plating concepts/processes.
  • Develop safety procedures for workers operating equipment or working near chemical reactions.
  • Troubleshoot problems with chemical/plating manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to optimize performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience/education satisfactory to management.
  • EHS waste disposal experience preferred.
  • Chemical engineering experience preferred.
  • Plating experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in teams.
  • Computer knowledge, including CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Cost analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of plating theory.
