About the position

As a Chemical Engineer at Sibelco, you will leverage your engineering expertise and chemical process knowledge to enhance existing processes, ensuring high-quality production outcomes. Your role will involve analyzing current processes to improve quality and technical performance of quartz products, while supporting operational excellence across production sites.

Responsibilities

• Aid Process Engineering projects from idea to operational ramp-up by providing context from a commercial/customer perspective.
• Provide input and suggestions to execute experiments and testing for process changes and customer evaluation material.
• Conduct technical, operational, and/or project ad-hoc audits on a specific need basis, under the Sibelco Process Audit Guidelines.
• Evaluate the minerals and materials processes and identify unnecessary complexities or flaws.
• Support installation of control systems, sketching the more suitable philosophy control.
• Support Sibelco production sites and project teams to promote operational excellence, provide technical best practices, and ensure safe (HAS-compliant), efficient, effective innovative, scalable, and sustainable operations.
• Advise other departments on how to maximize the efficiency of existing installations by suggesting improvements and bottlenecking.
• Develop a detailed understanding of our customers' processes to assist in problem-solving and continuous improvement for both Sibelco and our customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering
• 2 - 5 years experience in an industrial environment
• Advanced verbal and written English skills
