About the position

The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for the development, design, and optimization of chemical processes and systems to enhance productivity, safety, and sustainability within Coated Products North America. This role requires a strong background in chemical engineering principles and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver significant projects and advanced applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve combustion systems for industrial processes, including industrial furnaces and ovens for manufacturing.
  • Optimize fuel efficiency, minimize emissions, and enhance safety protocols to meet company and NFPA Standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative combustion technologies.
  • Work with Project Management Office to optimize the process control of key processes to minimize quality losses and improve resource utilization.
  • Devise and implement initiatives to reduce carbon emissions across various industries.
  • Monitor emissions, waste disposal, and chemical handling practices.
  • Implement strategies to reduce environmental impact and maintain legal compliance.
  • Design and modify chemical processes to enhance efficiency and minimize resource consumption.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for process improvements.
  • Use modeling tools to predict process behavior and optimize parameters.
  • Present findings, progress reports, and recommendations to management and project teams.
  • Participate in industry conferences and stay informed about advancements in combustion and environmental technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related Engineering studies.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Chemical Engineer in an industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of chemical processes, thermodynamics, and reaction engineering.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering studies.
  • 10 years of demonstrated experience as a Chemical Engineer in an industrial environment.
