About the position

Experis is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join one of our Fortune 500 Life Science Clients in Burlington, MA. This position is a 12+ month contract with a high possibility of extension. The Chemical Engineer will work closely with and under the guidance of the Lab Water Solutions Projects Group Manager and a Senior Engineer. The primary responsibilities will include providing engineering, design, and quotation support to application sales specialists for Lab Water Solutions Projects lab water system opportunities. The engineer will also provide installation preparation and support to field service engineers for system installations, ensuring that all necessary documentation and equipment are coordinated effectively. In addition to installation support, the Chemical Engineer will provide project management support for Lab Water Solutions Projects opportunities. This includes documentation preparation, installation preparation, and coordinating the ordering of custom equipment and parts. Ongoing technical and troubleshooting support will also be a key part of the role, assisting with new system installations and the existing Lab Water Solutions Projects systems. The engineer will coordinate support between customers, technical service, and in-house Lab Water Solutions Projects engineer support. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in the maintenance and continued development of the Lab Water Solutions Projects systems portfolio, which encompasses standard designs, parts, equipment, and supporting documentation. The engineer will also assist in developing standard quotation proposal packages and support tools using established standard designs and equipment. Furthermore, participation in Lab Water Solutions Projects training programs for sales, service, and in-house organizations will be expected.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering/design/quotation support to application sales specialists for Lab Water Solutions Projects lab water system opportunities.
  • Provide installation preparation and installation support to field service engineers for Lab Water Solutions Projects system installs.
  • Provide project management support for Lab Water Solutions Projects opportunities including documentation preparation, installation preparation, and coordinating ordering of custom equipment and parts.
  • Provide ongoing technical and troubleshooting support to new Lab Water Solutions Projects system installations and the Lab Water Solutions Projects systems installed base.
  • Assist in maintaining and continued development of the Lab Water Solutions Projects systems portfolio of standard designs, parts, equipment, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in developing standard quotation proposal packages and support tools using established standard designs and equipment.
  • Assist in Lab Water Solutions Projects training programs for the sales, service, and in-house organizations.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering plus 2+ years' experience in a related field (an engineering Associates degree combined with relevant experience also considered).
  • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals coupled with a hands-on practical sensibility of engineering design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient at a 2D level with AutoCAD software or similar design/drawing software.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to interact effectively with people across different organizations.
  • Knowledge/Experience in fluid dynamics, filtration, and water purification technologies and system design is highly valued.
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks.
