About the position

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize spray coating processes for various applications including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and medical devices.
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate new materials, coatings, and application techniques, ensuring product performance meets or exceeds customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot thermal spray coatings and applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Analyze data and conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of new projects.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory and environmental compliance related to coatings and materials.
  • Utilize modeling software and simulation tools to predict coating performance and improve process efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on research findings, process improvements, and project status updates for stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for the lead engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an engineering/chemical engineering role, preferably within the coating or materials industry.
  • Strong knowledge of spray coating technologies, materials science, and surface chemistry.
  • Proficiency in process modeling and simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, ANSYS).
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety standards related to chemical processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • A master's degree is a plus.
