About the position

Tetra Tech is seeking a Chemical Engineer / Project Manager to provide project management and technical support for environmental characterization and remediation projects, primarily related to PFAS. This role involves planning, executing, and managing complex projects while collaborating with experienced professionals to foster a sustainable future. The position requires a strong understanding of chemical transport and the ability to document findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage complex environmental projects and field programs.
• Evaluate chemical distribution and transport through various media including soils and groundwater.
• Conduct and supervise pilot tests, treatability studies, and engineering designs.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and deliverables.
• Mentor junior professionals and collaborate with experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in environmental restoration consulting.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired; PMP Certification is a plus.
• Fundamental understanding of sampling environmental media such as groundwater and soil.
• Experience with PFAS investigation and treatment projects is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and develop technical documents and data presentations.

Nice-to-haves

• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
• Other OSHA training is desirable.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning and sales tactics.
