About the position

As a Chemical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading productivity projects that yield significant reductions in defects and costs while simultaneously increasing productivity within our manufacturing environment. Your responsibilities will include maintaining engineering documents and actively participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) to execute recommendations aimed at eliminating process safety hazards. You will be tasked with developing Pre-Feed/FEL-1 packages for capital projects, ensuring that all engineering aspects are thoroughly addressed from the outset. In this role, you will work on projects focused on optimizing energy consumption, which is crucial for reducing operational expenses in our 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will perform root cause analyses and implement necessary process changes and control plans to drive continuous improvement across various operations. Utilizing Six Sigma tools, you will drive process improvements and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to work independently or collaboratively to reduce process variability and waste through optimization of process unit operations. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with other operational engineers to develop and implement innovative engineering solutions aimed at improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). You will also utilize the Management of Change (MOC) process to manage changes effectively and support operations in troubleshooting daily process issues as they arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or updating existing ones as necessary, as well as sizing relief valves and creating associated packages.
