About the position

The position involves working on various environmental consulting projects, primarily focused on the oil and gas industry. The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills to develop solutions that meet client objectives, particularly regarding air program regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include compliance assistance, data entry, regulatory analysis, report writing, and client support, with potential for out-of-town travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with compliance and regulatory requirements related to air programs.
  • Provide staff assistance at client offices and support on-site projects.
  • Conduct data entry in regulatory and emissions tracking systems.
  • Perform regulatory and technical analysis to develop solutions for clients.
  • Write reports and assist in regulatory negotiations.
  • Conduct mass balance calculations and emission inventories.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot existing systems and processes.
  • Prepare air quality permit applications and related documentation.
  • Interface with internal project teams, industry representatives, and regulatory staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or environmental engineering or a related field.
  • Internship or post-college professional experience in industry, an environmental agency, or environmental consulting.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Technical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong computer skills, including spreadsheets.
  • Willingness to travel and adjust personal schedule for project needs.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years of post-college professional experience in industry or environmental consulting.
  • Experience with regulations and environmental permitting.
  • High proficiency in data systems and analyzing large data sets.
