About the position

Trihydro Corporation is seeking a Chemical or Environmental Engineer to join their Mining Services business unit. The role involves providing effective and safe solutions to contamination issues stemming from mining activities. The engineer will support a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 100 companies and government entities, focusing on improving human health and the environment. The position requires a commitment to safety and teamwork, with responsibilities including soil and water sampling, process unit design, remediation implementation, and technical report preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Support sampling of soil and water.
  • Design and size process units in water treatment systems.
  • Implement remediation strategies.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Manage and interpret data.
  • Communicate with project management and clients regarding site activities.
  • Steward health and safety programs at active sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or civil engineering.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Project or internship experience in environmental subjects.
  • Willingness to obtain EIT and later PE certification.
  • Strong academic GPA and relevant thesis topic (if applicable).
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices.
  • Ability to work independently and seek help when needed.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hydrological or geochemical modeling.
  • Experience with GIS applications or CADD.
  • Research experience with laboratory techniques and data management.
  • Direct industry employment history in environmental assessment.
  • Experience leading field events in energy, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Programming/coding experience for handling large data sets and statistics.
  • Experience or interest in electron microscopy and material characterization techniques.
