About the position

As a Chemical Packager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in our Manufacturing team, dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive the products they need to achieve their scientific goals quickly, reliably, and safely. Our Bridgewater, NJ site is currently ramping up operations to meet increasing customer demand, making this an exciting time to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for checking incoming and outgoing merchandise, verifying quantities, and ensuring the correctness of materials. You will enter shipping and receiving data into the computer as required and perform general warehouse duties, such as arranging stock and taking cycle counts. The role will also involve using manual and automatic materials handling equipment to handle merchandise, including loading and unloading trucks. Additionally, you will unpack, pack, or repack merchandise as required, while being responsible for working safely and minimizing downtime and material losses. To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable working in an environment with both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Previous experience in a chemical environment is preferred, and you should be capable of operating powered industrial trucks. You will need to confidently understand and follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and various alarms and light indicators. This position offers a sign-on bonus of $1000 after joining the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, with details provided during the phone interview.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills, including detail orientation and accuracy in documentation.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with hazardous and non-hazardous materials; previous experience in a chemical environment is preferred.
  • Capable of operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
