About the position

The Chemical Plant Shipping Clerk at PSC Group is responsible for managing the shipping operations within an industrial chemical plant environment. This role involves calculating the innage/outage of hopper cars, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining accurate records and communication with various stakeholders. The position requires a commitment to safety and quality training, as well as effective communication skills to interact with team members and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Calculate innage/outage of hopper cars at the facility.
• Complete necessary paperwork involving hopper car shipments.
• Ensure all inbound rail cars are approved for loading.
• Ensure accuracy on all paperwork for railcars leaving the plant and all sample results have been received.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with employees, customers, and drivers.
• Troubleshoot and mitigate problems when discrepancies are found.
• Ensure truck drivers adhere to the site's safety expectations.
• Perform effective shift handover during shift relief.
• Maintain notifications between Shipping and other departments.
• Act as headcount attendant for the site during emergencies.
• Manage data and records of all railcars and trucks.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Stable work history with good references from past employers.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Fluent in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures.
