About the position

The Chemical Process Engineer III role at Parker Lord's APS Division in Cary, NC, is a leadership position focused on process engineering for product development projects of medium to high complexity. Responsibilities

  • Lead process engineering on product development projects of medium to high complexity.
  • Successfully commercialize new products that meet customer and manufacturing expectations.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, manufacturing leaders, product developers, and business personnel globally.
  • Follow and enforce safety, ethics, and quality procedures within the team.
  • Engage with team members across business, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
  • Independently lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes.
  • Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field is required.
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 4 years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD is required.
  • Preferred experience in a chemical manufacturing facility, especially with polymeric materials.
  • Track record of completing medium complexity projects and leading high complexity projects or multiple projects.
  • Ability to lead portions of major projects as a team member.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience and proficiency in process control technology and automation systems.
  • Experience with control systems such as ABB 800xa, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell TDC/Experion, Schneider Foxboro, and Siemens PCS7.
  • Experience in CFD and fluid mechanics simulations.
